Online slots – nine game mix of new, old and recommended

Last time out I ended upwards with a really pleasing turn a profit, despite a few difficulties in running. A couple of the games had played hard to get, and I had paid over the odds for bonuses on at least 3 games. My overall cost had come in at £500 for nine games, which was actually perfectly reasonable in the end. Despite the expensive bonus lands, a few cheap ones had got me back on rail overall.

But you are and then of course relying on the bonuses themselves. At that cost, an average set of bonuses testament not recover the starting funds. However, it was one of those days though where a number of the bonuses paid good above average, and the difference it makes is incredible. I turned circular a £500 deficit and finished with close to a £300 turn a profit.

A quick look at the numbers:

nine bonuses, total paid out = £780.
Average bonus = £86

I was largely playing at 60p stakes and my theory around the costs / expected homecoming has always been along the following lines:

On games where a bonus buy was previously allowed, the cost to purchase a bonus was typically 100x. thus, a reasonable expected cost of bonus is £60 at 60p stake.

The bonuses themselves cannot average above 100x or it would be possible to buy them endlessly and gradually take money from the New Zealand Casino. We all know that does not happen!

So what is an average bonus? I honestly do not know, but I would suggest that around 50x is a reasonable guess (delight debate this in the comments!) This figure allows for both low and really high bonuses, whilst giving a criterion middle ground bonus that is a decent win, but nothing spectacular. From me, on 60p stakes, this is around the £30 mark.

Of course the different games and their respective volatility / potential factor into all this, so the above really is a huge simplification. But hopefully it helps explain my thinking a little.

For the bonus hunt last time, my average bonus was 143x. No matter how you look at it, that is running really good, and I have to be delighted with such a final result!
